Work In Progress 15th Century Italian Soldiers

Somewhat planned painting palette

Lately been in a rut planning and even starting the painting process for my medieval 15th century Italian soldiers. I will say what makes this project more easier is focusing on a section of italy. Basically Northern Italy (Milan, Venice, Genoa, Verona) Central Italy (Florance, Pisa, Umbria, Perugia, Lucca) and Southern Italy (Naples, Sicily, Calabria). I also own 13th century knights that can also represent italy so the painting is easier since there are better example than the pieces for the 15th century.

Though as I think about this chances are I'll be focusing on the early 15th century of Italy before the Italian Wars to avoid Milan, Venice and any other armies. So mostly mercenaries that have their own color palette.

Early 15th century Italian Soldiers

While the benefits are I don't have to overly detail my 1/72 minis. It doesn't give anyone an idea which italian-state they belong too other than what they dress in. What's also important about this too is the addtional armor that comes into this period like the brigandine.

There also are two Knights included that have a surcoat that could represent a Player Character or leader for wargaming purposes. Though I think the latter is what I will use for my Solo RPGs. If you wanna know where I got my figures be sure to check Ebay and this review from Plastic Soldier Review and look for these figures.

I don't regret buying this

Honestly not much else to go over with this upcoming project. I just don't wanna mess these figures up because they all look wonderful. Also to give an update as well to what I've been up to behind the scenes. I won't forget the Actual Play that I have coming soon to this blog. As always  stay tuned!
